You might have some experience with basic accounting concepts or bookkeeping through life, but when starting and managing a small business the stronger your ability to understand and use these concepts, you make your business stronger! This workshop is here to help you better manage your small business accounting needs!
Explore the concepts behind balance sheets, income statements, and how everything works together. Should you need one-on-one help with these accounting concepts and finding how these concepts work in your small business, we are here for you. In this workshop we help to demystify accounting statements. We take those intimidating accounting terms and break them down so they are easy to understand. During class we review the basics of profit and loss, balance sheet terminology, sales and expenses, and help you feel more confident in planning for your business.
This information will also help you to prepare to apply for a business loan and put some power back in your hands so you can steer your business to greater profitability.

In this workshop we will review the various types of funding available, myths and truths, and take a deep dive into the Five C’s of lending and how the lender uses these items to determine approval or denial of your loan request. We will also discuss the importance of a clear business plan and financial projections and how these two documents tie together. You will leave this workshop with a solid understanding of funding options, what a lender uses to measure your application, and how to be prepared for this critical step in the development of your business.
One-on-One business counseling is available after completion of this class.

Starting a business can a complex and expensive endeavor. One way to control your startup/operating expenses and streamline processes is to use proven tools to help test your idea. In this multiple-part workshop, we will lead you through the LivePlan business planning tool. This tool teaches you to lean in your idea, define your customer, determine your market potential, and complete a pitch deck to share your idea effectively. Additionally, LivePlan offers you the ability to take on-demand workshops tailored to each section of your business plan. Market research techniques and resources will be discussed to help you validate your business idea and ultimately prepare to test your concept.
After finishing this workshop, you will have all the tools needed to complete a business plan! Along with additional consultation opportunities, you are likely ready to get your business started! Having your financials, business plan, and everything together will be a great asset when applying for funding.
